In the summer of 2009, the Lord opened a door for me to work among the Pokot tribe in Kenya. My wife, Mary, was traveling with me that summer when we received an invitation to attend a well drilling in West Pokot.  At that time I was a board member of Love Mercy, a non-profit organization working among the poor in Kenya.  They were drilling a well for a school in Konyao.  It was there that I met Phillip, the area’s Senior Chief.  He was a follower of Jesus and had been praying for God to send someone to help him reach his people for Jesus.  As I was talking to him, he asked me if I was that person.  At that moment I not only felt the Lord’s presence but also the Lord’s pleasure.  I knew that God was calling me to help reach the Pokot people.  I also asked my wife and she felt the same.  Although we had not brought any provisions, we decided to stay overnight.  We both wrapped up in an unused tent tarp and slept that night on the cold hard ground.  This was the beginning or our work among the Pokots.

With Pastor Peter Murunga’s full blessing, he sent me out as a spiritual son to work among the Pokot tribe.  We believe God has been preparing our family all of our lives for this work helping to reach over 913,000 people for Christ.
